Questions

Common questions

What people usually want to know before they write.

Do I have to be religious?

No. Faith is optional here and other beliefs are welcome. Prayer and scripture are part of sessions only if you ask for them, and Reyna does not bring her own beliefs into your therapy.

Do you take my insurance?

Hallow is out of network with insurance plans, so you pay the practice directly and can ask your plan to reimburse you. We do not bill Medicare or Medicaid. See How fees work.

What is a superbill, and how do I use it?

A superbill is an itemized monthly receipt you can send to your plan. It carries a diagnosis code, which your plan will see. Your plan decides whether it pays you back, and how much.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a written estimate of what your care will cost before you start. We give you one in advance. The full details are on the How fees work page.

How much does it cost, and how do fees work?

Your fee for a session is given to you in writing before you book. A limited number of reduced-fee sessions are held each month, so ask when you write to us.

Can I use an HSA or FSA card?

Often, yes. Check with your plan administrator, since each plan sets its own rules.

What happens in the first session?

A conversation, not a test. You say what you want from therapy and what you want to leave alone for now. Your clinician explains how she works, including what it might stir up, and you decide whether to go on.

How often, and for how long?

Sessions are 50 minutes, and most people meet weekly at first. Your clinician sets the pace with you and does not promise a number of sessions.

Are you licensed where I live?

Reyna is licensed in California. Video sessions are for clients who are in California when we meet. We cannot see clients who are in other states.

What do I do in a crisis?

Call or text 988, any time, or call 911 in an emergency. This website and our messages are not monitored around the clock, so do not use them to reach us in a crisis.

What is confidential, and what are the limits?

We keep your records private and share them only as the law allows. Reyna explains the legal limits to confidentiality at your first session, before you share anything.

Can you see my teen?

Hallow sees adults, 18 and older. If you are looking for care for a teen, write to us and we will help you find a clinician who sees teens.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel or move a session. Your fee and the policy are given to you in writing before your first session.

“I was nervous about writing in. The reply was kind, and plain about what happens next.”
